FAQs about frown line-fighting Xeomin®

Feel like a “new you” with a refreshed face—not a face that looks “different.” At New U Women’s Clinic & Aesthetics, we serve Kennewick, Washington, and the Tri-Cities area with a wide range of nonsurgical therapies to fight signs of aging and UV and environmental damage, notably lines and wrinkles. We provide an entire category of injectable treatments known as “neurotoxins.”

What are neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins, most famously known as Botox® Cosmetic, relax the muscles associated with developing expression lines. However, our clinic also offers Xeomin® and Jeuveau®. While Botox® may have been the first neurotoxin available to fight cosmetic concerns, new products that may be preferable depending on your preferences and needs are now on the market.

How is Xeomin® and other neurotoxins like it applied?

Our highly talented and trained providers apply the Xeomin® solution to specific muscles with very thin needles as an injectable treatment. Since only the muscles that are injected relax, you can still express yourself naturally and effortlessly with your face.

How does it feel?

Due to our use of thin needles and precision injection techniques, numbing anesthetic and cooling are not essential. However, if you are concerned about comfort, these options are available. Your experience is our priority.

Do I have to take time off of work for treatment?

Not really. The only time you need to set aside is for the actual injections, which can be completed in just minutes. You can complete your treatment over the lunch hour or any other breaks during the day.

So, no one will know that I’ve had treatment when I go back to work?

That’s right. Xeomin® and the other products mentioned here are true no-downtime procedures. Common side effects are limited to the sites of injections and may include bruising, swelling, irritation, and tenderness. These effects should go away quickly and make way for your smooth and renewed skin!

When can I see those results?

While every patient’s experience is different, you may notice improvement in the look of your frown lines and forehead lines in as few as three or four days. These improvements will be enhanced over time, peaking around 30 days post-injections.

How long do these results stick around?

You will likely not need a “touch-up” treatment session for around three or four months, though some patients have enjoyed their new look for up to six months. There are things you can do to take good care of your skin and body that support sustained results.

What makes Xeomin® different from Botox® or other neurotoxins?

Xeomin® is considered to be a particularly natural and highly purified neurotoxin. It is engineered via innovative manufacturing processes that isolate the active/therapeutic part of the product. Removing additives lets you enjoy this frown line-fighting ingredient’s most “pure” version.
