PDO threads offer a minimally invasive and non-surgical solution to lift areas of loose skin, restoring them to their original, more youthful position. The beauty of this treatment is that the results are not only immediate but also continue to improve over time. As the PDO threads naturally dissolve, they are gradually replaced by new collagen and elastin, making the skin more resilient against the formation of lines and wrinkles. This procedure is designed as an excellent alternative to a traditional surgical facelift, providing long-lasting collagen enhancement for a naturally refreshed look.

I felt very confident. My friends have come to New U, and they look fabulous. So, I had to ask where to go, and I decided to come to New U well, I was totally amazed at the results, as soon as it was over with when I walked out of the door, and then it just kept getting better, and I’m so pleased with the results in just a week. Now here’s your two-minute take on area businesses, communities, events, and entertainment. Welcome to your two-minute take. I again I’m coming to you from New You Women’s Clinic and Aesthetics. I’m Jason Valentino, and I’m joined by Dr. Rachel Fidino. Doctor, how are you today? I’m good, how are you? I’m fantastic, and we have Jackie as our model today. Thank you to Jackie. We’re talking about… well, maybe you don’t want to use fillers, but you have an option if you do. Right, we do. We have what’s called minimally invasive, non-surgical sutures, or threading. This is a barb suture that I have in Jackie’s face, and these are suspension sutures. This suture has a bunch of tiny barbs on it, and it will slowly dissolve and turn into carbon dioxide and water over about eight to nine months. While it’s doing that, it’s going to form her own natural collagen. For patients who don’t potentially want to use filler, this is a great alternative because it provides not only a nice lift, but you can see when I pull on her tissues how much I can really suspend them. For women, as we get older, we lose a lot of collagen, and it starts to droop in our lower face, so this kind of puts it back up to where it belongs. It creates it naturally, so that’s what you want. How long does the procedure take, doctor? It kind of depends on the area. On average, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour. What areas can you use it for? All areas of the face, as well as the jawline and down the neck. Sometimes we’ll use some other off-label approaches like brushless booty lifts and different things like that. They should get a consultation with you to figure out the best place to use it, right? Absolutely, yes, absolutely, and they can do that anytime. Excellent. Thank you so much, doctor, and Jackie, thank you so much again. They have many options for you that are cutting edge at New You Women’s Clinic and Aesthetics. Doctor, thank you so much. That’s your two-minute take.
What is the PDO Thread procedure?
The PDO Thread Lift procedure bridges the gap between surgical interventions and injectables, providing immediate and longer-lasting results compared to treatments involving dermal fillers and BOTOX®. In this procedure, specialized threads are carefully inserted beneath the skin, effectively lifting sagging skin. Notably, the thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive, and safe in-office treatment with minimal downtime.
This procedure is suitable for both women and men experiencing moderate sagging in areas such as the midface, jowls, nasolabial folds, neck, and eyebrows. Patients may also notice improvements in skin texture, reduction of fine lines, and increased elasticity due to collagen stimulation and neovascularization. These benefits contribute to the smoothing of wrinkles and fine lines, resulting in an overall firmer and tighter skin appearance. Additionally, it is an excellent option for younger patients seeking to define their jawlines for a more sculpted and contoured facial structure or to address concerns like droopy eyelids.
What type of PDO Threads does New U Women’s Clinic use?
We use three types of PDO Threads in our clinic. Your provider will do an assessment and recommend the best thread for you.

Miracu Elasty Meshfill
Miracu Elasty Meshfill stands as the world’s pioneering 16-line MESHFILL, capable of delivering not only a lifting effect but also enhancing volume and rejuvenation through the concurrent use of filler. Approximately two weeks following the insertion of the mesh within the layer situated between the dermis and SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System), soft tissue begins to grow into the gaps present in the mesh structure. This growth effectively tightens and secures the dermis and SMAS, leading to rejuvenated and more voluminous skin.
Hey everybody.
We’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding PDO threading and so I wanted to discuss PDO threads as well as what different threads that we offer here at New U. So we offer the mint PDO threads here in our clinic.
So those are some of the most aggressive PDO barbs that are in the industry. I really love these type of threads because it’s a 360 helix type of thread and so I’m gonna be getting the full tissue layer as well as anchoring the tissue in really nicely because the barbs are on a 360 surrounding the suture as well as I really like that some barb threads, they actually make the barbs by cutting into the suture and with the mint video threads, they’re molded onto the sutures. They’re way more aggressive and that’s what we’re looking for if we’re really trying to help with that tissue that’s been kind of dropping or sagging to anchor it up into, put that tissue back in place from just volume loss, aging, losing fat pads, losing bones. So my job is to try to go in there and restore that as best we can. So we offer several different threads with mint. Just know that when you come in, we don’t charge by the suture, we charge by the area. So just kind of know that, that I’m gonna be putting in as many sutures as possible to get the result that you’re looking for. So the nice thing with our threads as well is they’re not permanent. We don’t wanna leave anything that’s permanent inside of the patient’s face. And so they’re generally dissolved. They turn into CO2 and water, um, over about nine to 10 months, those sutures are gone. The results are gonna last you around a year and a half to two years. If you’re doing other sort of procedures here in the clinic for collagen stimulation, you might get a longer result. However, generally a year and a half to two years is when we have to kind of reassess. Do we need to go back in there and put some more, um, PDO threads in or not? Nice thing about the threads as well is they are customizable, so I can use different strengths. Some of our sutures as well are fixation sutures by other sutures that we’re gonna be using are for pulling that tissue. Um, there’s no scarring. Everything is buried underneath the face. I would, I do tell our patients it’s gonna take a couple of weeks for that swelling to go down. Uh, we do use topical lidocaine, injectable lidocaine. We also have different, um, nitrous and other pain medications that we can give during the procedure if needed. But most of our patients do actually just quite well with, a little bit of injectable lidocaine and maybe some nitrous. We are looking for as close as possible to getting a surgical like result non-surgically with these, with these sutures. So that’s kind of the big difference from PDO threads versus other threads that are out there is potentially they’re not as aggressive. So at New U, we wanna make sure that what you’re paying for, you’re getting. And so that’s why we use some of the most aggressive sutures on the market. I am the KOL for Mint PDO threads and so I have a ton of experience with them. You know, we wanna make sure that you are happy with your results. We offer, uh, PDO threads for the nose. So some people come in and they have a Flat nasal bridge and they wanna kind of elevate that just a little bit, or we have a dorsal hump we call it on the nose. And so there are some patients that are not candidates for PDO threads and I will assess the patient, see if they’re a good candidate, and if they’re not, then we will go through other options or potentially I just, um, send them up to facial reconstructive plastic surgeon in Seattle. We use a group up there, Dr. Joe and Dr. Portis is who we use for that. However, if a patient comes in and they want their nose done with threads, we can do that. We also, um, mid-low and jowl is really, really common that people come in and we can suspend all of the tissue, back into its original position. Next are also another area that we do place these threads. We can also place threads in other areas. If somebody wants a little bit of a breast lift or a booty lift, we can place the threads there. So just kind of know that there’s different threads based on the body part that we are treating. And so we’re used to seeing these patients and taking care of them. So, um, making sure that you come in for a consultation first. We can see if you’re a good candidate and kind of walk you through that process and then get you taken care of.
