Results you’ll flip over!
FAQs about lip flip treatment
Add some “oomph” to your lips! There are more options than ever before to boost the appearance of this central and unmistakable feature of your face. And one of these options gets particularly natural and subtle results for the right patient. It’s called the “lip flip.” We couldn’t accomplish this twist on lip enhancement at New U Women’s Health & Aesthetics without the use of Botox® Cosmetic.
Wait, I thought that Botox® was just for frown lines and crow’s feet?
While Botox® Cosmetic is most famous for combatting expression lines in the upper face, our Tri-Cities area providers in Kennewick, Washington, can introduce it to other parts of the face and even the neck for skin rejuvenation.
How does Botox® make my lips look better?
Botox® and other neurotoxins are injectable treatments that work by relaxing the muscles responsible for the frown lines between the eyebrows and horizontal forehead lines. When injected precisely into the muscles around the lips, they sufficiently relax these tissues. The effect is that the lips turn or flip outward. Unlike other types of lip enhancement (like fillers), they do not add volume to the lips. Instead, the appearance of added volume can be promoted by repositioning the upper lip. The muscle activity or contractions responsible for a drawn-down pout are disrupted. A youthful position and posture to the lips is supported.
Are lip fillers or lip flips better for me?
We can discuss your options during a consultation. After we evaluate your specific concerns and discuss your goals, our providers will have a better idea of the most appropriate path forward. It should be noted that fillers are best suited to individuals looking for a dramatically plumper pout. In contrast, the lip flip process is most appropriate for those who seek a more subtle enhancement. You may even safely enjoy the benefits of both options – as the lip flip may be administered to achieve your ideal lip shape, whereas filler can support your ideal lip volume. They can be quite complementary procedures when in our skilled hands.
What can I expect from lip flip treatment?
It’s not unusual for your lips to feel a bit odd for a week or so after treatment. You may find that drinking from a water bottle or applying lipstick feels a little awkward. These effects will go away before you know it if you notice them at all. The full results are typically seen in around two weeks and tend to stick around for three to six months before “touch-ups” are needed.
